Last August Beadies

Here's my last beads to post in August...

where did summer go???? OH, that's right,

we didn't have on this year in IN ;-(

Basketry focal:

Bubble implosion. Nice technically,

but where did my colors go??

I found I don't like making little round beads

anymore, but like the colors in this one

This is what I LOVE about boro!!!

This bead is only Purple Sable and Clear

...only one color rod for all this Yummy.

So so implosion...but a good learning experience

Kiln Harvest

So yesterday, I'm not getting the colors I wanted

and when I shut the system down, I realized I had

somehow kicked of one of my oxy cons....DOH!!!

This large focal was not the colors I was going for

(it's that oxy thing again) but I do like

the ceramic look it took on...it's all good.

OK, here goes...I rarely say this about my work,

but this little marble is sooooo pretty! I LOVE IT!

Big Blue....

After messing around with kak all day yesterday,

I finally pulled off a nice big blue bead,

made with Spring Luster.

Picked these up today from torching last Friday

Quite a variety of wild stuff.

Yesterday's harvest

Soooo, I make this bead see....

and it turns all baby poo color,

so I squish it and add dots....

now we have squished baby poo with dots.

This is where the kiln does it magic.

It came out kind of a cool ivory and is elegant.

With the right gems, this could be a lovely piece.Not a great marble, but I do think,

this might be the best little flower I've done to date.

Inspiration and results pics

This is one of the two pics I took in Miami.

It was of a building that was right outside

the Gathering hotel. I manipulated it and

worked from this as inspiration for the vessel below.
