Post Holiday Ahhhhhh ;-D

Hope you and yours enjoyed your Holiday Season.  Ours was fantastic this year.
All the knitties went over in grand style and my fingers were glad for a tiny break.  Here's a few  odds and ends gifties that I passed out to loved ones.
These went to B.  I had a sneaky sack by the knitting nest so I could knit on them quickly while he was out of the house.  Phew...that was a close one.

OK, so maybe I am not so generous....I kept this one. ;-D

For SS Dustin and below for his love, Paige.  I know it's corney, but these match their new puppy!

AND, for (probably Piper) below a hat, 'cause I'm gonna' be a Sammaw.

Santa was VERY good to me and I spent the day yesterday, dashing about buying yarn and a swift and winder.  NOW, that's some fun stuff there ;-D

This funky hat came to me in a dream where I was putting hats in the oven and baking them...huh?
I mad these hand warmers for our neighbor that plows our driveway in the winter ;-D

Sock School

I had a nice quiet day at home yesterday so decided with a book and DVD to send my self to "sock school"  I used the book "Sock Knitting Master Class " by Ann Budd as my guide.  The DVD was vital in me getting the drift of things.  By the end of the day I had made my first pair of socks.  I have wanted to knit socks for ages and ages ;-DDD
I also made a scrunchie cowl to go with the Parrot Head beret I posted earlier.

Winter Knitting Nest

Those of you that know me, know that I HATE winter with a cold passion.  BUT, this year, I've made my winter nest and started knitting again.  I have knit since I was five years old, but haven't picked up the sticks since 1995.  WOW, that was a long break!
I've been having a blast making little slouched berets and a few garments.  The garments are being camera shy at the moment, but here's a few pics of some of the berets I've made lately. ;-D
Stay warm!

JAZZZ it up around here!

I just went through both my blogs front to back.  I'm kind of in a "back to basics" mode here.  I was amazed to find out that I used to do a lot of twistie, murrini and stringer work...HUH?  Who knew.
I was also taken by surprise how fun this blog used to be.  What happened to that?  Time to jazz it up around here!
  Here's a few new pieces that I've been working on of late;
These are from my Minimalist series.

Fun BIG boro focals

And as always....some shells ;-D

Time to start having fun again all up in here.  More spicey stuff coming up ;-D

Ya' know...I was thinking....

After a wonderful online friend featured my blog in a post (thanks, Deb K)  I've been showing my works on Facebook and neglecting my blog!  Now, that just isn't fair!
I'll show some pics of my current works in a minute.
I busily getting ready for The Gathering.  For those that don't follow the ISGB, to boil it down, it's an international glass conference.  I am lucky and honored this year to be teaching and presenting my blow glass sea shells.  I'm so excited about this event that I get all squigglie at times.
The To Do lists are almost done and next week will be clothes shopping and pampering, then off to Rochester, NY

The two series that I have focused on lately are my blown glass sea shell and my one color and clear focal beads.  I've added fins, flares and fans to the shells and like them much better.  I have been able to push the color with the reaction to the clear in boro and added black bead caps to my focal beads.  AND, oh yes, they are getting bigger and bigger with a 4" bead being common these days.

Thanks for visiting and here's some pics ;-D  Samma
