Hendricks County Arts Go

We had an artists studio tour in our county today and I was at Sally's Ceramics along with a few other artists. It was a great time. Here's a few pics of the day.

Forest Floor

A new lampworking friend, Eddy, challenged the theme of under the forest floor last night. I figured under the forest floor, there is surely a vein of gold, right?

Well...not so simple...

Well, the project of the night was to try to make the simplest bead possible. Ummm...I got distracted, OK? This one told me her name was Water Bug.

Flowers in the Surf

Have you ever seen bright flowers floating in the surf? I saw it in Hawaii one time and this bead reminds me of that site.

Continental Divide

For some reason, this one reminds me of a topical map...do you see Italy?

I've been playing with paladium leaf lately and lovin' the turquoise. This looks like they just found the mother load.

Black and Bling

This weeks color challenge is Black and _____ (fill in the blank). So here's the first...black and bling. Couldn't really capture the iridescense on this one, but it's there ;-D

Turquoise

I had a great time with the silver fuming on this turquoise bead.

Yummy Brown Organic

I like this one enough, I have to show you both sides.

Wild Iridescense

This one is so iridescent it's very difficult to photograph. Somehow not as pretty with out all the rainbow shine.

Grey, Punkin' and Maroon

Don't know where that color combo came from...there you have it.

Boo Hoo of the night...

Gotta' make a bigger badder on of this for sure. Cracked right down the middle...boo hoo!

Dark Silver Plum rocks!

This is my first adventure with Dark Silver Plum....wow. Now THAT looks like raku glaze...diggin' it!

Mother Earth Vessel

Some of my new earthy colors I got yesterday at Inspired Fire. Playing with tiny stringers of Double Helix...almost got some color.

I got some pretty teals yesterday and just had to slobber them all over this bead.

Red Flower Vessel Bead

I so love this red. I made this one on a bent mandrel..well, you know what happens then...boo hoo. Got to make me a bigger badder one!!!!

Enough with the red flower already....

...but I had to do just one more. Another one destined for electroforming.

Finding Your Voice Bead

This one was supposed to be symetrical one side organic, one side not. I got carried away with the silver fuming and ended up all organic, but I do like it.

Another Color Challenge

Another attempt at the Salmon - Jamacian Yellow - Purple. I like this one much better.

OH Mercy!!!

What have I done??? With the Color Challenge Group this week, I've assigned colors to each letter and we are doing our initials. Well, dang, that makes mine Salmon - Jamacian Yellow - Purple OH YIKES!

On Purpose

I did this bead especially for electroforming. I thought the warm coppers would look grand with the limey and tealy greens. Hmmmm?

Fav of the day...

This was the last bead of the day and my favorite of the crew. I have to show you both sides. Whooped out the fuming and all the bad boys on this one.

Inspirational Lunch

I saw this cool black and white with red pic in the Chinese diner we went to for lunch and this bead was envisioned. It's a color combo I like, but seem to forget about.

Simple Dimple

This little bead is simple but fun. Some times simple is good...not very often, but some times, right?

Pearls

This glass when reduced for the dots looks like pearls...just like pearls...KOOL!

This is a real strange one for me, but I can't quit looking at it...somehow intriguing??

Organic Floral

I used to love to hike along a trail and find a little flower that was totally out of place. Kind of happened in my beads yesterday.

Easter Sunday Harvest

I can't quite making those little flower murrini. I put them in every danged piece I made yesterday...have bunches to show you!

Comfort Zone

I LOVE to play and learn, but once in a while, you have to go back to your comfort zone. Here's a 96 COE vessel bead...ahhhh...that felt good.

104 Challenges...grrrr

COE 104 continues to challenge me as patience is an issue. I'm getting there though. Some say, I like it HOT!

Last Red, White and Blue Color Play

Just to show some variance, I did a couple more Red, White and Blues.

Here's a Denim and Burgundy. I had added some cream that got eaten by the strong colors, but will show it anyway.

This one is Screamin' Red, Screamin' White and Screamin' Turquoise...how fun is that?

Hope ya'all have a very Happy Easter. I have always found the Ukrainian and Polish Easter eggs totally fascinating. If you do a google search under images of Ukrainian eggs you will be sure to find delight.

Starting to play with color challenges

This week's challenge is red, white and blue. The first bead has the red dominant and it was OK, but didn't really do it for me....so I decided to reverse the color dominance and see what it looked like...yeah, that's the ticket. Much better!
