After a class with Emilio Santini,

he showed us some "wax on - wax off"

exercises to improve our heat control in glass.

One of the exercises is to make consecutive

maria (knobs) on a rod of glass and see how

consistent you can get them.

It was really fun and I did learn alot...

but just can't let a piece of glass

be "nothing useful".

Someone asked what the heck to

do with the boro color Sublime.

I use it to imitate abalone shell.

Make a piece from TAG Purple Sable then

chop-hack-twist-drag and then encase with Sublime.

Well, you know how sharing I can be.

I shared a cup of coffee with my keyboard...oops.

Since the computer was bought in 2004 and getting

goofier by the day, I went and bought a new laptop ;-D

Ummm.....when did they do away with the

numbers pad and move all the letters around?

Learning curve straight ahead.

Torched at the studio with Lisa yesterday and

it's basically the land of soft things...including glass.

I made these marblse that garaged all day but not ramped

up to strike or anneal. I thought it might be interesting to

see boro before kiln striking and after. They are in todays'

kiln batch...so the after pics can come tomorrow.

Sunday, July 4. The cross has a slight

flare to indicate his Native American

heritage and the nails in the cross

are obvious, but also stands for the

three of them in their family binded

by faith. The clear heart bail is for the

purity of love he has found. I'm honored

to be asked to make this special piece ;-D.

10 Foot Tall and Bulletproof

Yup, that's how I'm feeling today.

Anyone that knows me...I'm not shy

at all, BUT the thought of asking someone

for something (even at a fast food drive thru)

sends shivers down my spine.
Sooo....I got my big girl britches on today

and marched down to the police station

(my new best friends) and asked to reclaim

the items recovered from the many robberies

at my house. Took all I had but "my baby" is home.

This is my family ring that contains my

Momma's, Grandmother's and Great Grandmother's

wedding diamonds. I'm sooooo happy to have her

back. It's been almost a year and I'm so thankful

that among other things, this special

(not replaceable) piece was recovered. Thank you

so much to the diligence of our local police dept.

I truly appreciate you!!!

AND, I called my Dr's office to ask for

a piece of paper. Woot diddy woot...I'm on a roll!
